Phayao Flower Festival With Fireworks And A Birdie Release
Phayao is a lovely town in the north of Thailand. We only saw one other foreign couple while we were there. For our afternoon, evening and the next morning we ate lunch, enjoyed the flowers and fireworks show, had a nice sleep and enjoyed the flowers in the daylight..........Be sure to scroll to the bottom to see my favorite part of the trip as Sengthong and I release our birdies at the lake side.
Grow your own mushrooms
Some kind of sweet snack
Pounded fresh rice as a snack
Waffles!
Steamed buns with I'm sure some sort of yummy filling
Northern sausages are delicious
Sticky rice is wrapped in a banana leaf to go with the sausages
These light steamed cakes were slightly sweet and delicious that night and with coffee the next day
Our friends Sam and Sengthong. And Mr. Hat!
We saw a truck full of fresh ginger!
Our fresh melon, pineapple, oranges and tamarind from roadside stands. Sweet tamarind is like dates only better!
The lake at Phayao where the locals love to fish and to keep the lake clean only
non-motorized boats are allowed.
Mr. Hat took some really wonderful pictures of the fireworks!
Strange statues at the temple
Sengthong releasing her birdies
Thinking of my friends at the UofO
I wanted to buy every single living thing to release but had to settle on a basket of two birdies
