Borsang Umbrella Center

This handicraft center is famous and we have seen many pictures from other bloggers and images on the internet. We were surprised how small the area is and how much is accomplished by those that work there.

There is a good sized gift shop and behind that are women and men cutting bamboo, shaving the pieces for the main structure of the umbrellas. All the paper is handmade and dyed to be glued to the frame and later painted with designs.

While walking around, our friends that drove us suggested I get my cell phone case painted. It took the woman all of 5 minutes and cost me 50 baht or $1.50  Check out the short video!

A great big thank you to our friends Sam and Sengthong for taking us to this special place.
